This week we have been learning about colors.
We have read books and played games, talked about and used
all sorts of colors.

Miss Spresser and Alicia read A Color of His Own about a
chameleon.

We listened to a song about colors and found objects in
the room that were the right color.

Alicia played a game using colors and graphing. The
kids decided which color was "more".

Kids Port kids had a special treat today. Pedal 4 Prevention, three young men who are bicycling 4,000 miles to raise awareness and funds to fight child sexual abuse, stopped by to talk to the kids about their bikes and experiences riding across the country. They showed the children on the KP map rug where they were from (Mike is from Scotland) and where they were going (Charleston, SC to Los Angeles, CA).

Tyler is with Darkness to Light, an organization which educates
people on awareness and prevention of child sexual abuse.

Tyler demonstrates how to change a bike tire. The kids
were fascinated (for a while).

Landon shows the kids how to air up the tire.
